Style Talk with the Gals of InkHouse Public Relations

InkHouse11

When we learned one of Boston’s fastest growing, female-founded companies is located just down the street from our studio, we knew we had to meet them.  The ladies of InkHouse Public Relations are every bit as smart, strong and savvy as you would expect.  They’re also incredibly stylish.  With holiday party season upon us, we invited them to our studio to talk personal style, and show off their go-to holiday looks.  Lindsay, Caitlin and Skye raided their – and their moms’ – closets to create these outfits.  Similar accessories can be mixed and matched for fun festive looks throughout the season.

Lindsay

The Boatneck Tank pairs perfectly with any A-Line party skirt.  Lindsay is wearing silver flats for a splash of sparkle.

Describe your personal style:  I think my style would fall under or close to the category of “preppy chic.” I aim to fill my wardrobe with staple pieces that won’t go out of style quickly. I have never been a fan of “fast fashion” – I tend to be drawn to warm colors and timeless cuts and have a hard time not buying every blazer I see. I also love to accessorize whether it be bracelets, scarves or necklaces.

Name one woman in your life whose style you admire: My mom has always been my role model – both in life and in fashion. She worked at Vogue for 12 years before becoming a full time mom and I have never doubted her fashion taste. I admire her ability to find flattering pieces and pair them with fun accessories. Every time I am shopping and trying something new on, a voice inside my head asks, “Would mom approve of this?” I am always looking to her for guidance.

Describe one thing that gets you in the holiday spirit: I absolutely love when the lights are put on the trees down Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. It is so festive and every year I look forward to traversing the street at night – especially if there is a recent snowfall – and quietly taking in the scene. There is something so peaceful and beautiful about it.

Caitlin

Caitlin shows the versatility of the Pencil Dress.  She paired it with berry red pumps, pendant necklace, chunky cuff bracelet and a dainty gold purse.

Caitlin rocking the Band Dress.  To accessorize she went with simple pale pink pumps, strings of pretty pearls and a statement cheetah print clutch.

Describe your personal style:  I would say my style is classic chic with a twist. Most of my wardrobe is filled with basic pieces that I like to jazz up with fun accessories.

Name one woman in your life whose style you admire:  My mother is my style icon. She has impeccable taste and the most insane fashion sense. Everything I know about fashion and style I learned from her.

Describe one thing that gets you in the holiday spirit:  Every December I go up to Kennebunkport, ME with a bunch of my friends for their annual Christmas Stroll. They have a tree lighting and the town is so beautifully decorated. It always gets me in the holiday spirit. That and lots of Christmas movie marathons!

Skye

Skye is casual and cozy in the Sweater Dress.  She’s paired it with a plaid blanket scarf, textured tights and wedge booties.

Describe your personal style: I like to pair classic, simple pieces with unexpected materials or pops of color. Comfort is essential to me when I get dressed, so my go-to outfit in the winter for work is long, chunky knits paired with a fun scarf and my favorite jeans. (But I also really love sweatpants)

Name one woman in your life whose style you admire: My boss, Beth Monaghan (CEO of InkHouse). I literally want all of her clothes. Her style is so effortlessly chic and always polished. She rocks her Converse one day and her Louboutins the next – she’s awesome.

Describe one thing that gets you in the holiday spirit: To be perfectly honest, I hate shopping. Crowded malls and dressing room lighting that makes you look like a ghost really just aren’t my thing. BUT my mom and I have this tradition every year where we go into Boston for the day and walk down Newbury Street and get all of our Christmas shopping done – and drink lots of eggnog of course.
