Spring Street Style

Craving a little spring style inspo as winter winds down? So were we! So we asked a bunch of Boston babes to join us at the Brass studio for a street style photo shoot. With Madeline Heising behind the camera, we were joined by six beautiful ladies from different areas of our city. Each brought her personal style and sass to the shoot. Check out their take on their favorite Brass pieces below!

Gabby

Gabby wears The Jumper (L) // Leggings (L)

Tell us about yourself: I grew up in Connecticut, but have lived in Boston for almost a decade. I am an elementary school teacher, but also work social media for a small boutique store in Beacon Hill.

Describe your style: I would describe my style as trendy chic and that’s the reason why I can live in the Leggings from Brass, because I can go from work to hanging out with my friends easily in them.

Woman you look up to: Nina Simone. She had such a powerful voice, and at the time was very misunderstood as a woman, but was truly soulful and a beautiful human being.

Mackenzie

Mackenzie wears The Cropped Crew (M) // Button Down Blouse (S)

Tell us about yourself: I am a nationally awarded art director currently working at Arnold Worldwide’s headquarters here in Boston. I am also the lady behind the fashion-focused lifestyle blog, To The 9s. I just moved to Boston from Chicago, but I’m originally from Texas. I can’t wait to make this fabulous city home!

How would you describe your style: A quirky take on timeless pieces–I love anything classic with a fun and eclectic twist!

A woman you look up to: Mindy Kaling. Not only is she super funny, but she shook up the boy’s club of TV writing without ever abandoning her own beliefs or standards.

Sarah

Sarah wears The Sway Dress (M)

Tell us about yourself: I currently live in Boston by way of Connecticut. During the week I work in marketing for an e-commerce site and on the weekends you can probably find me driving unreasonable distances for day hikes that allow just to make it back to the city in time to see live music at night.

How would you describe your style: I’d say my style is classic but relaxed — I like to mix quality basics with older, broken-in pieces (my favorite color is denim and I like my shoes worn).

A woman you look up to: I’ve really been looking up to all women in the Boston Blogger community. These girls are amazing self-starters who kill it in their careers during the week and use their spare time to pursue their various creative passions. I’ve been so inspired lately by the way they all lift each other up and want to help each other succeed. It’s great to see so many women influencing their communities!

Nishat

Nishat wears The Line-Up Midi (S)

Tell Us About Yourself: I was raised in Luxembourg and I’m a first grade teacher, influencer, and donut enthusiast.

How would you describe your style: My style is simple neutrals, but always cute and comfortable.

Woman you look up to: I look up to Michelle Obama for so many reasons!

Lindsey

Lindsey wears The Jumper (S)

Tell Us About Yourself: I live in Boston, teaching design thinking by day and making music in a band and hand-lettering by night.

How would you describe your style: I like to infuse neutral classics with a little bit of joy

Woman you look up to: There are so many incredible women I look up to today – especially over the past few years, I have looked up to Amy Poehler for her ability to cut through nonsense with poise and humor. Through her work with Smart Girls, she is the perfect example of a smart, strong woman empowering the next generation of smart, strong women.

Bethany

Bethany in The Sway Dress (XXS)

Tell us About Yourself: I am originally from Connecticut, and currently live in the Greater Boston Area exploring the world of fashion through my style blog, Twenty Something Plus

How would you describe your style: Casual chic!

Woman you look up to: I will always admire my mom.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our shoot! We’re very lucky to share a city with such smart, accomplished women!
